Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd, Arsenal in striker battle; City want Juve ace

Manchester United and Arsenal are chasing a La Liga forward, while Manchester City are eyeing a Juventus star, according to Friday’s European papers.

Bayern Munich are set to battle Manchester United and Arsenal for a Barcelona forward, according to reports from the Spanish media on Friday.

Barca’s 22-year-old forward Jose Arnaiz has emerged as a target for the Bundesliga side and the Premier League duo, Mundo Deportivo claims.

Arnaiz scored on his first appearance for the Catalan club on Tuesday night as he netted his side’s third goal against Real Murcia.

The report claims that the player’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, as his agent has been contacted by the three aforementioned clubs.

Bayern are reportedly chasing Arnaiz as a long-term replacement for Franck Ribery, who is 34 years old and is currently recovering from a knee ligament injury.

Arnaiz apparently has a £17.8million release clause in his Barca deal, which he signed in August after arriving from Real Valladolid.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde was full of praise for Arnaiz after his debut in the Copa del Rey clash: “He has the goal in his head. I believed he could help us in this game and that it’s good for them [the B team players] to come and face a situation like this.

“He scored a great goal, he has a powerful shot. It’s a first step. He is already helping Barcelona B but we are not two teams.”
