PSG have reportedly made a huge bid to try and land a Manchester United target from Real Madrid, while Lionel Messi’s new Barcelona deal will have a €400million release clause, according to Friday’s European papers.

PSG are reportedly set to rival Manchester United for Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez this summer.

Rodriguez is considering quitting Real after starting only 13 La Liga games last season and France Football claims that PSG want to bring the 25-year-old back to France.

The Colombian joined Real from Monaco for €80million after an impressive 2014 World Cup but has failed to fully live up to his reputation, despite an impressive first season in Spain when he scored 13 La Liga goals.

United boss Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the player, and his Real team-mate Alvaro Morata hinted that the pair could be playing together at Old Trafford next season after Wednesday night’s friendly clash between Spain and Colombia.

However, PSG are reportedly ready to bid €70m as they look to beat United to the attacking midfielder.

Barcelona are planning to offer Lionel Messi a blockbuster deal that includes a stunning €400million release clause.

Messi is said to be very close to agreeing to stay at Barca for another three years, with the option for a fourth.

The 29-year-old is set to earn €40m-a-year to ward off reported interest from PSG, who were said to be willing to pay €250m to land the Argentina star, according to the report in Mundo Deportivo.

Messi’s stay would certainly to be a huge boost to the Barca fans and new boss Ernesto Valverde, who is expected to bring in several new players this summer to freshen up an ageing defence and midfield at the Nou Camp.
