Euro Paper Talk: Raiola to help Man Utd beat Liverpool to €80m sensation

Man Utd are hoping Mino Raiola can help them beat Liverpool to a defender, while Arsenal are leading the race for a Benfica star, according to Friday’s European papers.

THERE IS DE LIGT THAT NEVER GOES OUT

Super agent Mino Raiola will help Manchester United beat Liverpool and other elite European clubs to the signing of Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt, a report claims.

De Ligt is understood to be a man in demand with Barcelona and Man Utd linked with the 19-year-old central defender.

Meanwhile, on Friday morning The Sun claimed Pep Guardiola had identified De Ligt as the man to bolster Manchester City’s defence.

De Ligt though claimed he has no thoughts of following Frenkie de Jong, who wrapped up €75million move to the Camp Nou earlier this week, to Catalonia, although he did suggest in time it could be a destination of choice.

“I can’t stop journalists talking about that, it’s part of football,” he said after Ajax’s 3-1 cup victory over Heerenveen on Thursday.

“We’ll see where I end up, but for now I’m very happy at Ajax and I hope to have a good season here. Or seasons, maybe.

Now, Don Balon are suggesting that Raiola could be key in deciding where the Dutch international goes next, and the agent has strong connections with United.

Raiola’s involvement could help the Red Devils beat their bitter rivals Liverpool to De Ligt’s signature for a fee of just €80million, the report claims, despite speculation Ajax are after €100m.
