Liverpool are fearing a raid from Real Madrid for one of their key men, while Man Utd and Man City may miss out in the race for a £105m star, according to Sunday’s European papers.
REAL EYE SHOCK RAID ON LIVERPOOL
Real Madrid will make a move for Liverpool’s star defender Virgil van Dijk should they lose Sergio Ramos this summer, a report claims.
Spanish source AS recently claimed that Ramos has been offered to both Liverpool and Manchester United, as his relationship with Madrid president Florentino Perez has deteriorated.
The defender has been vocal in protecting his teammates from Perez’s criticism this season, and it appears that has pushed their rapport to breaking point.
Reports over the weekend claimed that Klopp is only interested in signing a full-back and back-up striker this summer, so does not feel the need to bring another centre-half to the club.
However, while Liverpool may not fancy signing a centre-back, the same cannot be said the other way around as the LaLiga giants are apparently keen on signing Van Dijk.
A report from Spanish outlet AS claims that the Dutchman will be firmly on Real’s list of targets should Ramos leave, thought it would almost certainly cost them a world-record fee (for a defender).
The former Southampton man has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world in a season where he has made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring 6 goals.
