Euro Paper Talk: Real Madrid ready huge opening bid for Liverpool star

Sadio Mane Liverpool

Liverpool are braced for a gigantic opening bid from Real Madrid for arguably their best player, while Tottenham may have found Hugo Lloris’ successor, according to Monday’s European papers.

Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid are set to show Liverpool their desire to sign Sadio Mane this summer is genuine by tabling a huge opening offer of €150m for the player.

Mane has taken his form onto another level this season and he has arguably been Liverpool’s most consistent performer this season as Jurgen Klopp’s side have marched tantalising close to a first league title in 29 years.

Zidane has always been a fan of Mane and would have tabled an offer last summer had the Frenchman not stepped down as Real boss. But his return to the hotseat has seen their interest rekindled – and now El Confidencial claim a gigantic opening offer is imminent.

According to the Spanish paper, Real are ready to make an opening bid of €150m (£129.4m) for Mane. While Liverpool are certain to reject the approach, the paper claims Zidane and president Florentino Perez are prepared to do ‘whatever it takes’ to tempt Liverpool to sell – and will increase their bid until Liverpool eventually relent.

While Mane – who has four years left on his Liverpool deal – has kept his counsel on links to Real, the paper suggests he could look to force the move to the Bernabeu once the season is over.
