Real Madrid have reserved a shirt number for a €60m Man Utd target, while Barcelona have reportedly agreed a €100m deal Atletico Madrid star, according to Thursday’s European papers.
REAL MADRID RESERVE SHIRT NUMBER FOR €60m MAN UTD TARGET
Real Madrid are plotting a move for Barcelona defender and Manchester United target Samuel Umtiti according to reports in Spain.
Diario Gol claim Real would be willing to treble the player’s wages should he opt to make the sensational move across Spain.
Not only that, but such is the confidence that they will tempt their target away from their La Liga rivals, Madrid have told Umtiti they will reserve his perferred No 23 shirt for next season.
Doubts remain over whether the highly-rated defender will sign a new deal with Barcelona, and the longer the 24-year-old goes without comitting to his long-term future at the Catalan side, the more the speculation will surface.
Umtiti is seen as an integral element of a Barcelona defensive line that have conceded just 24 goals in 36 games this season, giving them the second best defensive record in La Liga.
United had been linked with Umtiti, who has a €60m release clause in his contract, but look set to miss out on their target.

ARSENAL CONFIDENT OF DEAL FOR NAPOLI STAR
The name Piotr Zielinski will be familiar to Liverpool fans – but now it seems Arsenal are poised to land the long-term Jurgen Klopp target.
That’s according to reports in Italy, who claim Arsenal are ‘very confident’ in securing the signature of the Poland star.
According to Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Arsenal director of football Sven Mislintat has identified the 23-year-old as a key signing this summer – and is willing to do whatever it takes to bring him to Emirates Stadium.
The player has a €65million exit clause in his contract and the Italian paper claims Arsenal are willing to meet that price to secure the star.
They believe Zielinski is tempted to try his luck elsewhere given he is far from a guaranteed starter at Napoli.
Though he has only started 12 Serie A games this season, the Poland international has still managed seven goals in all competitions.
Liverpool were keen on Zielinski two years ago but the player instead moved to Napoli, with the Reds refusing to meet his then €14million asking price, which oddly now, seemed pretty steep at the time.
