Real Madird have been warned not to bother bidding for a Chelsea star, while new Arsenal boss Maurizio Sarri says a forward will remain at the Emirates amid La Liga interest, according to Friday afternoon’s European papers.
REAL MADRID WARNED ABOUT MOVE FOR HAZARD
Real Madrid have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Chelsea star Eden Hazard, after new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri said the player will be going nowhere.
The talented Belgian forward has plenty of admirers around Europe, and in particular La Liga, with both Barcelona and Real heavily invested in bringing him to Spain.
Chelsea kickstart their Premier League campaign this weekend, and Sarri is relieved to still have Hazard at the front and centre of the Blues’ plans.
Although the English transfer window closed on Thursday, European clubs are still able to make bids for Premier League-based players.
“I think it’s impossible,” Sarri said at his press conference when asked if Hazard could be leaving for La Liga. “It’s impossible because, here, the market is closed. We cannot change important players now, so I think it’s impossible.
“Hazard is with us. I think, definitely. Not a problem. I have spoken with him three or four times for everything. He never said something about the market, so I think he’s very happy to stay here.”
ARSENAL WITHDRAW FROM MIDFIELDER RACE
Roma have been given a clear path to land a Sevilla star this summer after Arsenal withdrew their interest in the player, a report claims.
The Serie A giants were reportedly battling the Gunners for French World Cup star Steven N’Zonzi, though it was claimed in Italy that a disagreement between the board and Roma boss Eusebio di Francesco saw the deal fall through.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport state that a deal is back on the cards for the capital club as the player is interested in making the move.
Barcelona are also apparently in the running for N’Zonzi – who is believed to have a €40million release clause – though it is believed that Roma are frontrunners for his signature.
