Euro Paper Talk: Ter Stegen delivers PL snub; Real want Thiago

Real Madrid are eyeing Manchester City target Thiago Alcantara, while Antonio Candreva’s agent reveals that his client rejected a move to the Premier League, according to Monday’s European transfer gossip.

The agent of Inter Milan midfielder Antonio Candreva has claimed that the player rejected a deadline-day move to a Premier League club.

Chelsea have been linked heavily with the winger in the past following Oscar’s £60million sale to SIPG Shanghai at the end of the January window.

Candreva has worked with Blues boss Antonio Conte before when he was in charge of the Italian national side over a two-year period before arriving at Stamford Bridge.

In a report by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Federico Pastorello – who represents the Italy international – the agent reveals that Candreva turned down an unnamed English club as he is “very happy” at the San Siro.

“He received an important offer from England at the end January,” Pastorello said.

“I think Inter are going to hang onto him, and Antonio is very happy to be part of the team that will become the anti-Juve.

“The Nerazzurri are one of the most interesting clubs in terms of where they could end up.

“Only Inter, for example, could afford to spend €100m on [Kylian] Mbappe.”

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen says he is “happy” at Barcelona despite reported interest from Premier League side Manchester City.

The Citizens were linked with Ter Stegen in the summer when they were looking for a suitable replacement for Joe Hart but opted for Claudio Bravo.

However, with Bravo enduring a torrid start to his time and City, speculation is beginning to grow again that Pep Guardiola could try to land the keeper in the summer.

A report in Spain indicates that this unlikely to be the case with the German stopper indicating to the publication that he is “happy” at the Camp Nou.

“I am happy here, with my team-mates and my friends,” Ter Stegen told La Vanguardia.

“I do not know whether I will stay at Barcelona for many years. You never know what happens in the future.

“I just try to give my all and do what’s best for me and for the team. I want to give my best and keep improving.

“I am living in the moment. That is the most important thing.”
