Euro Paper Talk: Roma join race for €50m Man Utd target; Real eye €75m PL hitman

Roma have joined Manchester United and Liverpool in the race for a €50m midfielder, while Real Madrid are readying a huge offer for a United star, according to Friday’s European papers.

ROMA JOIN RACE FOR MAN UTD, LIVERPOOL TARGET

Serie A giants Roma have joined the race to sign Juventus and Liverpool target Mateo Kovacic, reports in Spain claim.

According to radio station Cadena Cope, the Romans are interested in acquiring Kovacic to bolster an already strong midfield.

The 24-year-old joined Real Madrid from Inter in the summer of 2015 for a fee of €29million, but he has been prevented from obtaining a regular starting berth by Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro.

Roma have already made nine signings this summer, including the impressive coups of Javier Pastora and Justin Kluivert.

Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Don Balon recently claimed that Jose Mourinho has instructed Manchester United to pay the €50m release clause to land Kovacic.

REAL MADRID PREPARE LUKAKU BLOCKBUSTER

LaLiga giants Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a sensational offer for Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku.

According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol (via the Daily Star) – known for their bold transfer stories – Real are ready to table an offer of £44m (€50m) plus Cristiano Ronaldo to land the Belgian.

The report claims that Los Blacos want Lukaku – who cost United £75m – to replace Karim Benzema, who had a disappointing season at the Bernabeu.

Lukaku meanwhile has been hugely impressive at the World Cup, netting four times during the group stages as Belgium pipped England to first place, in addition to scoring 27 goals in all competitions last season.

It is believed that United are interested in exploring a possible return for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford for the Spanish capital in 2009 for £80million.

Ronaldo is contracted to the Champions League winners until 2021 and his buyout clause is set at €1billion, but OK Diario now claim his release clause has been significantly lowered to €120m.
