Euro Paper Talk: Man City agree to pay €75m clause for Sociedad winger

Man City have agreed to meet a €75m clause to sign a Spanish star seen as Leroy Sane’s replacement, while a Sevilla attacker is holding out for a move to Manchester United, according to Monday’s European papers.

MAN CITY TO MEET OYARZABAL EXIT FEE

Manchester City have reportedly agreed to pay the €75m exit clause for Mikel Oyarzabal as Leroy Sane’s transfer to Bayern Munich inches closer.

Germany star Sane is expected to join the Bundesliga champions this summer, with City only reluctantly letting him move on once a replacement has been identified.

And according to Spanish daily AS, City boss Pep Guardiola has instructed his side to meet the €75m release clause in the contract of exciting Spain Under-21 left winger Oyarzabal.

The 22-year-old is seen as one of Spanish football’s brightest young talents and it’s claimed Guardiola sees him as a direct replacement for Sane, with the two transfers set to leave City marginally in profit.

Oyarzabal, who recently won the Euro Under-21 Championships with his country, has 38 goals in 151 matches for Sociedad, having seen his influence grow at the Anoeta Stadium.

While Sociedad want to tie their prized asset to a new deal, they except it’s likely his exit clause won’t prove prohibitive to the game’s big hitters – and it seems like it is City who look set to bring the talent to the Eithad this summer.
