Neymar’s affordable release clause has reportedly been revealed, while Barcelona have made a bold statement regarding Lionel Messi’s long-term future, according to Friday’s European press.
SECRET CLAUSE REVEALS NEYMAR PRICE IN 2020
Neymar could be available for just £145million from 2020 thanks to a secret clause in his contract, according to reports in Spain.
A report in Mundo Deportivo claims that the current most expensive footballer of all-time could be allowed to leave from June next year after three full seasons in Paris – when a release clause becomes active.
PSG smashed the previous world mark when they brought in the Brazilian for £198m from Barcelona back in the summer of 2017, but rumours of a move back to Spain with Real Madrid refuse to go away.
The 27-year-old is still said to be unhappy with life in Paris and if the latest reports on the secret clause in his contract are to be believed then Real may wait until 2020 to get the playmaker for a significantly lower price.
The forward, who has appeared in only 50 of 105 possible matches for PSG since signing from Barcelona, saw his future called into question again last weekend when he lashed out at a fan following the club’s shock French Cup final defeat to Rennes.
Real Madrid are expected to have a major overhaul of their first-team squad this summer, with the likes of Premier League stars Eden Hazard and Christan Eriksen both being tipped to move to the Bernabeu.
