Liverpool remain interested in Thiago Alcantara, according to Sport with the midfielder’s price tag now dropped, while a new deadline for Man Utd to sign Jadon Sancho has emerged, all in the Euro papers.

Spanish outlet Sport remain convinced that Thiago Alcantara will sign for Liverpool.

Last week they claimed the midfielder had already agreed personal terms and the transfer was down to the two clubs agreeing a fee.

Sources in England and Germany are not convinced with the Liverpool Echo claiming the club “have no plans of making a move for the player at this present time”.

Sport via Sport Witness though are banging the drum once again and apparently the paths between Thiago and the Premier League champions are “doomed to intertwine”.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted the 29-year-old, whose contract runs out in 2021, wants to leave.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was not as forthright, he said: “Thiago Alcantara is a really good player. Like a lot of other players out there, I like him a lot. But that’s all I have to say about that.”

However, France Football do agree with Sport in that Klopp would like to attract the Bayern Munich midfielder to Anfield. And they suggest Bayern would probably take an offer above the £27m mark.

Bayern’s asking price in full is believed to be €35million.
