Arsenal are on alert as Barcelona finalise their stance over a winger’s future, while West Ham are close to signing a LaLiga striker – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
BARCELONA PREPARED TO SELL DEMBELE TO ARSENAL
Barcelona are willing to sell winger Ousmane Dembele to Arsenal if they make an offer, according to a report.
Dembele moved to Spain from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 but injuries have hampered his progress to date.
This summer, Barca are looking to sell several players to lower their wage bill, which is the highest in Europe. Several reports claim Dembele, due to his consistent injury troubles, is on that list.
More recently, speculation suggested that Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had asked his club to sign Dembele. The pair were teammates while at Dortmund.
Now, Don Balon claims Dembele is fully open to a move to the Premier League. He reportedly believes the English top flight is a top destination where he can rediscover his best form.
What’s more, the source adds Barcelona are keen to hold talks with clubs who want the winger if they make an offer. The Blaugrana board are “losing patience” and want the Frenchman off their books as soon as possible.
However, the report says Barcelona now face a dilemma. Aubmeyang is stalling over a new contract with the Gunners, amid interest from the Spanish giants.
Should they sell Dembele to Arsenal, they reportedly believe that will also seal Aubameyang’s fate by leading to him signing a new contract.
