Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd get first refusal on Barcelona star

Frenkie De Jong, Ousmane Dembele

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is strongly considering a deal for a Barcelona star after Man Utd were offered a cut-price deal, while Tottenham want a €50m Italian to join Gareth Bale in an exciting new attacking line-up, according to Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk.

BARCELONA INFORM MAN UTD OF TEMPTING DEMBELE FEE

Manchester United have been presented with a golden chance to sign Ousmane Dembele, according to reports.

Barcelona are in desperate need to raise transfer funds for new boss Ronald Koeman, with Memphis Depay their No 1 target.

The Holland winger is likely to cost €30m from Lyon and Dembele looks to be the obvious man to make way.

The France forward arrived in an initial €105m switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. However, he has suffered a miserable time at the Nou Camp, with injuries curtailing his progress.

As such, Barcelona are actively looking to offload the player and have now set a tempting price on his head. As per Don Balon, Barca are seeking just €60m (£55.2m) for the winger.

Furthermore, they suggest United have been given first refusal on the winger, who at 23 still has time on his side. With United very much in the hunt for a new right winger, Dembele could tick that box perfectly.

United’s efforts to sign Jadon Sancho continue to dwindle. Borussia Dortmund continue to stand by their €120m asking price – a fee Ed Woodward is reluctant to pay.

Another man of potential interest is Gareth Bale, though he appears destined for a return to Tottenham. United still have a chance at landing Bale, according to AS. However, the player’s heart appears set on his former club and that move appears likely.

United though could land their man without too many complications were they to sign Dembele. As such, Solskjaer and Co are said to be seriously considering the winger with just over two weeks remaining in the window.
