Chelsea’s top brass have tempted Thomas Tuchel over landing a top transfer target, while Arsenal made a late Barcelona enquiry on deadline day – both in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
BLUES TEMPT TUCHEL OVER TARGET
Chelsea‘s ownership team have dangled the prospect of bringing Erling Haaland to Stamford Bridge if the Blues can finish in the top four this season, according to a report.
While the Blues have changed managers in recent weeks with Thomas Tuchel‘s arrival, their goal remains the same.
Chelsea have failed to mount a serious title challenge since Antonio Conte’s first season in charge. What’s more, their 2019 Europa League triumph is an indication of their standing in Europe for some time.
Therefore, Tuchel has supposedly identified Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland as one player who can help propel Chelsea to a challenge for top silverware.
According to Todofichajes, however, Chelsea will only be able to sign the Norwegian if they finish in the top four.
Owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly already sanctioned the spending, but needs proof that Tuchel is returning his club to the right path.
In any case, Haaland would almost certainly help Chelsea continue on their path to trophies. The 20-year-old has scored 37 goals in 38 games since signing for Dortmund from RB Salzburg in December 2019.
Chelsea, meanwhile, currently sit seventh in the Premier League, six points outside the Champions League places.
