Arsenal are making plans to make an ambitious double transfer raid, while Liverpool are considering a €20m-rated Real Betis star after watching him in action, according to Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk.
BRENNER ADDED TO LIST OF ARSENAL TARGETS
Arsenal are keen on a deal for Sao Paulo forward Brenner, according to reports in Italy.
The 20-year-old has emerged as the hottest attacking prospect in South America. He has plundered in 15 goals and three assists from 25 appearances in 2020.
And that form has drawn interest from Juventus, AC Milan and Lazio.
However, Calciomercato believes Arsenal head the race – and have an advantage in the form of technical director Edu. The Brazilian remains very well connected in his homeland and helped broker a deal for Gabriel Martinelli in 2019.
Now it’s believed Brenner is next in his sights. The Brazilian has a €50m exit clause in his contract. However, Calciomercato believes his exit can be secured for a fee ‘significantly lower’ next summer.
Indeed, Arsenal could look to secure his signing in January by offering Sao Paulo a sizeable deposit up front.
Brenner is also believed to be eligible for an Italian passport which would help facilitate his transfer.
PSG are also said to be keen, with Neymar believed to have recommended the player to the Ligue 1 giants.
ARSENAL ALSO KEEN ON BARELLA
Arsenal are also understood to be targeting an ambitious move for exciting Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength since departing Cagliari for the San Siro last summer.
Indeed, his performances have drawn the attention of some big hitters. As per FCInterNews, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City and Atletico Madrid have all shown interest.
However, the Italian website now claims Arsenal have joined his list of admirers, having scouted him in recent weeks.
Barella, it’s said, is seen by Arsenal as a dream replacement for Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners tried and failed to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon this summer. However, any deal for Barella is likely to cost more.
Contracted to Inter until summer 2023, Barella would likely command a fee of around €60m.
