Liverpool have been given the green light to sign a £78m attacker – and could follow that up with an uncompromising Dutch defender, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Leeds want a Turkish midfielder and West Ham lead the chase for a prolific Serie A striker.
SANCHO SAYS YES TO LIVERPOOL
Jadon Sancho is reported to have given Michael Edwards his word that he wants to join Liverpool this summer.
The England winger looks poised to finally leave Borussia Dortmund this summer after they dropped his asking price.
The Bundesliga side stood firm following an approach from Manchester United last summer, demanding £107m for his services. But now, with just two years left on his deal, Sancho can leave for £78m.
It’s reported they’d opt to sell the England man ahead of star man Erling Haaland. And with the club possibly missing out on the Champions League, Sancho’s sale looks increasingly likely.
However, according to Don Balon, Sancho has given his word to Liverpool.
They report he has informed sporting director Edwards his word that the Merseysiders are the club he most sees himself at.
The article speculates that he could replace the misfiring Sadio Mane in the Reds line-up next season, with the sale of Mohamed Salah also a possibility.
Liverpool also get De Vrij green light
Liverpool have also been informed that a deal for Stefan De Vrij is on this summer, claims a report.
As per FCInterNews, the Reds have made a fresh approach to sign the Dutchman this summer.
The 29-year-old was on their radar prior to the signing of Virgil van Dijk. But now they’re back in for him and have been told that Inter are open to his sale.
The defender enjoys a solid relationship with Van Dijk at international level. It’s suggested he’s been contacted over an Anfield move by the crocked Liverpool lynchpin.
