Fiorentina have rubbished talk of a Manchester United offer for a star midfielder, while Tottenham look to have missed out on an under-the-radar striker signing and Everton remain keen on a Salernitana attacker – all in Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims.

NEWS OF IMMINENT UNITED MIDFIELDER DEAL DENIED

Fiorentina have denied ever receiving an offer from Manchester United for top midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Reports in Italy earlier this week claimed that the Red Devils had submitted a bid for the Morocco international but Fiorentina were ‘unimpressed’ by the offer which failed to match their £25 million asking price.

Erik ten Hag has already worked with Amrabat during the midfielder’s breakthrough at FC Utrecht, with the pair still said to have a good relationship.

But according to Fiorentina’s general manager, Joe Barone, the Serie A club are yet to receive an official offer for the midfielder this summer.

“He [Amrabat] is also very attached to the team and to me too, we speak in English and we talk almost every day,” Barone told Sky Sport Italy.

“At the moment nothing official has arrived, I told him to come here concentrated because he is a Fiorentina player.

“He must have his head here and be ready for the start of the league, then if something comes we’ll evaluate it.

“We have an already very strong midfield department.”

Ten Hag still wants midfielder and striker

United completed their £47m move for Andre Onana on Thursday and are now focusing on signing a new striker before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund is understood to be Ten Hag’s top target, although Juventus star Federico Chiesa is also an option and there has also been a development over Victor Osimhen’s contract situation at Napoli.

Ten Hag is still on the hunt for another midfielder, and the fact that Amrabat is available for a reasonable price still makes him an attractice option – if United do actually decide to make a concrete bid.
