Euro Paper Talk: Guardiola to leave Man Utd, Arsenal stunned as Man City swoop in for brilliant La Liga ace; Man Utd face Juventus competition for midfielder

Manchester United and Arsenal are at risk of losing out on a breakout La Liga star after Manchester City burst into the race for him, Manchester United will face competition from Juventus for the capture of a Serie A midfielder, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Liverpool could land a top target for as little as £25million.
MAN CITY BATTLE MAN UTD, ARSENAL FOR SIGNING
Man Utd and Arsenal are no longer the main clubs pursuing Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga as Man City have just joined the hunt for him, according to reports.
Veiga is a 20-year-old attacking midfielder who has been in great form during his first full season in La Liga. He has managed nine goals and four assists in 26 league appearances, helping Celta reach 11th place in the table.
Only Iago Aspas has scored more league goals for Celta than Veiga this term. The young playmaker is joint-top of the club’s assist chart. According to WhoScored, Veiga is in Celta’s top three players when it comes to shots per game (1.8), key passes per game (0.8) and dribbles per game (1.1).
His exciting performances have resulted in interest from Spanish titans Real Madrid. However, there is the real prospect of Veiga heading to the Premier League this summer.
Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with the Spain U21 international. Towards the end of March it was revealed that Arsenal are Veiga’s ‘dream’ next club, should he depart Celta ahead of next season.
However, those three Premier League giants could lose out to City. According to Football Espana, who cite reports coming out of Spain, Pep Guardiola’s side have just positioned themselves at the front of the queue for Veiga.
City have let Veiga’s camp know they are interested in taking him to Manchester in the summer.
One of the main reasons the player may head to City rather than Man Utd or Arsenal is money. City are one of the richest clubs in England and they will therefore be able to outbid almost any other offer that comes in for Veiga.
Gabri Veiga might snub Man Utd, Arsenal for Guardiola link-up
City know that playing under Guardiola is an attractive proposition for almost any Spanish player, given his illustrious past with Barcelona. Therefore, they will use this as one of the main pull factors.
Veiga might have some concerns about playing often when leaving Celta. Currently, he is one of their most important players and is developing nicely as a result.
But when joining a major club like City, Man Utd or Arsenal, Veiga may have to settle for a place on the bench in some matches.
In order to allay such fears, Guardiola has supposedly told Veiga that he will have a ‘significant role’ when moving to the Etihad.
It is unclear exactly how much game time this could lead to. But the Celta academy graduate could look at striker Julian Alvarez as an example of how City can improve a young player. Alvarez does not always start for City, but he has still played an important role for them this season, scoring some big goals.
The report names Veiga as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin de Bruyne, with the Belgian now 31 years old. This is a big ask, but Veiga is certainly on his way to becoming one of Europe’s top midfielders.
