Liverpool are ready to spend big to sign their top two midfield targets this summer, Mauricio Pochettino is demanding Chelsea sign three Serie A stars, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Brighton are plotting to sign a Leeds midfielder for €25m.

KLOPP TELLS FSG TO SIGN BARELLA FOR LIVERPOOL

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly making Nicolo Barella his No 1 target this summer.

The Reds boss is busy sifting through a range of targets as part of a midfield rebuild. Indeed, four midfielders are leaving Anfield this summer with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner exiting as free agents. And the club are also sending Arthur Melo back to Juventus following a disastrous loan.

However, it now seems Klopp has decided on his No 1 target in the form of Champions League finalist Barella.

The Italy maestro has been in sparkling form this season, scoring eight goals and weighing in with six assists. And according to Inter.Live.it, he is a player Klopp has had under constant surveillance.

Now Klopp is reportedly urging Liverpool owners FSG to strike a deal to sign Barella.

Aware of the growing interest in the 26-year-old, Inter chiefs are responding by raising their valuation of the player.

And while that reportedly now stands at €80m (£69.7m), Klopp is imploring FSG to finance his signing.

Inter are reportedly desperate to keep the player but know an offer of that size would be impossible to resist.

And with sales needed this summer, his exit will reportedly help them keep othe key assets like Andre Onana, Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries.

Liverpool want to pair Barella with Alexis Mac Allister

Per multiple reports, Klopp is also hunting a deal for Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister too. And if Klopp manages to get his hands on the £70m-rated Argentine, he could soon have a dynamic new £140m midfield duo on his hands.

Like Barella, Mac Allister has also been in the goals this season; the latter netting a prolific 12 times for the Seagulls so far.

Liverpool’s interest in landing the star is very well documented amid claims a deal could be signed off quickly after the season ends.

Now according to The Athletic, Mac Allister is making it clear he only wants to for a club who can offer Champions League football. A late season surge has Liverpool up to fifth in the Premier League, though their run could come too late to gatecrash the top four.

And whether a fifth-placed finish will damage those chances remains to be seen.

As it stands, Mac Allister is yet to reach agreement to sign for any Premier League side.

However, a mechanism in his deal means it will be relatively straightforward for Liverpool to negotiate his transfer. And ultimately it will come down to the player’s personal choice in deciding his next move.

That said, Klopp is reportedly optimistic he can persuade Mac Allister to sign. And the chance to partner Barella in the Reds midfield next season is certainly an enticing one for Liverpool.
