Liverpool are on alert as RB Leipzig prepare to lose Timo Werner, while Chelsea are told the hefty price tag of a midfield target – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
RB LEIPZIG PREPARE WERNER EXIT PLAN
RB Leipzig’s sporting director Markus Krosche has confirmed that the club have “alternatives” in mind if Timo Werner leaves this summer.
Werner has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and the Germany international has made no secret of his admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s team and his compatriot’s style of play.
Indeed, previous reports have claimed that the Reds have moved into a strong position to sign the striker, with the likes of Chelsea backing off from their approach.
Speaking to SportBild (via Sport Witness), Krosche has confirmed that he has a plan in mind for if Werner does depart.
He said: “It is quite normal for Timo to become the focus of other clubs. But that doesn’t give me sleepless nights.
“We are prepared, we have alternatives in mind.”
The newspaper goes on to name three targets Leipzig are looking at as Sparta Prague striker Adam Hlozek, Santos’ Kaio Jorge and FC Copenhagen attacker Mohammed Daramy.
Hlozek, who was promoted to Sparta’s first team in January last year, has netted five times and assisted eight goals in 26 appearances.
Daramy, meanwhile, has found the net seven times this term while laying on five other goals.
