Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool to replace key forward with €135m La Liga star

Liverpool are reportedly lining up a La Liga star to replace one of their front three, while Chelsea have been linked with another record-breaking bid for a goalkeeper, according to Tuesday’s Euro transfer gossip.

Liverpool will try to lure Inaki Williams away from Athletic Bilbao if they sell Sadio Mane, according to reports.

For several years, Liverpool have had one of the most prolific attacking tridents in the world. Mane has formed part of a lethal frontline alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

However, those players are never far away from the gossip columns. Due to their status as some of the best attackers in the world, they are regularly linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Mane in particular has established himself as one of the best players in the world. And it appears Liverpool are preparing for his eventual departure.

According to Todofichajes, Mane is the most likely of Liverpool’s front three to leave. If he does, they already know who they will pursue.

Klopp: Mane can improve on Ballon d'Or ranking

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes Sadio Mane has what it takes to win the Ballon d'Or in the future.

The report claims Athletic forward Williams is high on their wishlist. The Spain international has spent the majority of his career with the Basque club, but has always looked capable of making a step up.

A deal for Williams to move to Anfield could be complicated, though. The 26-year-old is under contract until 2028, which could commit the rest of his career to his current club.

The only way for Liverpool to lure him away, then, would be to present a huge offer. Williams has a €135m release clause but Athletic may be tempted by a bid of €100m.
