Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool to step up pace over new winger signing and end rivals’ dream

Ismaila Sarr, Youcef Belaili Senegal v Algeria July 2019

Liverpool and Newcastle are looking to move a star winger across the Premier League, while Arsenal have made an offer for a Real Madrid man – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.

LIVERPOOL EYE ISMAILA SARR TRANSFER

Ismaila Sarr is a transfer target for Liverpool as well as Newcastle and AC Milan, according to a report.

The Watford winger arrived at Vicarage Road in the summer of 2019 for a reported club-record £40million. He has impressed in both the Premier League and Championship and is back making his name in the top flight this term.

In fact, his performances have again seen him be linked with a move away from Watford.

Sarr made the headlines in February 2020 when his brace ended Liverpool’s long unbeaten run in emphatic style. The Reds, as revealed by the player’s agent, almost signed Sarr that summer but ultimately signed Diogo Jota instead.

Nevertheless, the suitors for the 24-year-old have not gone away. Reports in March claimed that Newcastle are planning a move.

According to fresh claims from Milan Live, Newcastle and Liverpool have plans to ‘get serious’ over a move for Sarr.

AC Milan are also in the hunt, as they look to nail down a new winger signing. Junior Messias, who is on loan from Crotone and will return there this summer, has been battling with Alexis Saelemaekers for a spot in Stefano Pioli’s team.

However, Pioli and the Milan directors want to sign Sarr in the hope that he can nail down the role.

The Senegal international has scored five Premier League goals this season for Watford, who are fighting against relegation. Regardless of the threat of the drop, Sarr’s agent recently revealed that his client could leave in the summer.

Thierno Seydi said: “We have a good exit plan. In Watford’s strategy, if the offer is attractive, nothing will prevent him from leaving but where he will go, only the future will tell us.

“At this precise moment, there are rumours, interest, but really nothing concrete.”
