DONYELL MALEN LINKED WITH LIVERPOOL
Liverpool are reported to have opened talks over a deal to sign Holland striker Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven.
The 22-year-old former Arsenal man has gone from strength to strength since moving to Holland in 2017. Indeed, in the season just finished, Malen scored 19 goals and assisted eight more in 32 appearances for PSV.
However, he’s on the market this summer with Eindhoven willing to sell for around €30m (£26m).
That fee has alerted Liverpool with Max Bielefeld of Sky Deutcshe reporting that the Reds have opened talks over a deal.
Bielefeld claims the Reds are looking to Malen as an insurance policy should Mohamed Salah be sold.
However, regardless of the Egyptian’s future, the Reds are keen to add Malen into the mix in a bid to freshen up their side.
Dutch outlet Voetbal International have also confirmed Liverpool’s interest in Malen.
The Reds are looking again at Brighton’s Pascal Gross.
