Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool open talks for signing of dynamic Bundesliga midfielder as Klopp looks to sell struggler to former club; Tottenham lead Arsenal for £44m Spain star

Ryan Gravenberch (L) of Bayern Munich vies with Josuha Guilavogui of Wolfsburg during their German first division Bundesliga football match

Liverpool are looking to sign a Dutch midfielder with Jurgen Klopp ready to move on a struggling star, Tottenham are favourites to sign a £44m-rated Spain defender, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Arsenal are plotting an impressive £79m striker raid.

CONTACT MADE AS LIVERPOOL SEEK DEAL FOR RYAN GRAVENBERCH

Liverpool are reportedly in talks with the agent of Ryan Gravenberch as they look to secure his summer signing.

The Reds are preparing for what appears likely a major summer rebuild after losing their way this season.

Liverpool’s failure to strengthen their midfield last summer has come back to bite – and they currently sit seventh in the Premier League.

As such, they face a really tough task in securing Champions League football next season. Worse yet, they are on the brink of seeing their final trophy hope for the season extinguished with their exit from this season’s UCL all-but certain.

As such, Jurgen Klopp knows he needs major surgery on his Liverpool squad this summer.

Indeed, at least three midfielders will leave in Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner likely to leave.

And the engine room will be Klopp’s major focus as he looks to get the Reds back on track. As such, their interest in signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund is well documented.

However, with an asking price of £132m (€150m), Bellingham might be beyond Liverpool’s reach.

As a result, they are starting to consider a number of alternatives, for which Gravenberch is one.

Liverpool were on his trail in summer 2022 when it was clear he was leaving Ajax.

However, it was Bayern Munich who won the day, paying the Amsterdammers a fee of around £15.8m (€18m) plus add-ons.

The move, though, has not worked out as planned with Gravenberch struggling to make an impact.

Liverpool keen to sign Ryan Gravenberch as Real Madrid push for Fabinho

Indeed, the Dutchman has made just 22 appearances so far – with just one of those a start in the Bundesliga. That came in a recent defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach, with Gravenberch withdrawn at half-time.

As such, there are growing reports that Bayern are ready to part company with the 20-year-old star.

To that end, Sport1 claims Liverpool are closely following his situation and have now made contact with his representatives.

And the report claims Bayern are seemingly open to either his sale or even a year-long loan switch to Anfield.

Liverpool would likely prefer a permanent deal, though Bayern do have the 20-year-old tied down until summer 2027.

Still, a sizeable offer could yet convince Bayern to sell with club coaches reportedly unconvinced by the midfielder.

And it seems Liverpool could offer Gravenberch an instant place in their first team.

That comes amid shock reports from Spain that Real Madrid are ready to make a shock bid to sign Fabinho.

The Brazilian has looked way off the pace this season and has struggled to replicate his best form. Now reports claim Los Blancos are preparing an offer to tempt Liverpool to sell.

Real are preparing to say farewell to Toni Kroos this summer – and the Brazilian looks a ready-made replacement.

The Spanish giants were Fabinho’s first European club after leaving his homeland. However, he failed to make an impact and left the Bernabeu for Monaco in 2013, having made just one senior appearance.
