Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool get sensational lift as Euro giants complete dramatic U-turn over future of world-class star; Tottenham submit offer for fourth new signing

Liverpool have been given an incredible boost amid claims a world-class star could soon be put up for sale, Tottenham have made a bid as they look to improve their defensive ranks with a new signing, while Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims a Chelsea forward is ‘close’ to going to Ligue 1.

KLOPP ON ALERT AFTER BAYERN DECISION

Liverpool could complete their midfield revolution this summer with the stunning capture of Joshua Kimmich after Bayern changed their minds about the 28-year-old, as per a report.

The Reds have been in need of a midfield overhaul for some time now and have finally got it underway by signing both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. Mac Allister cost an initial £35million from Brighton, though the deal could rise to £55m through bonuses, while Liverpool paid Szoboszlai’s full £60m release clause to snare him from RB Leipzig.

But with Fabinho agreeing personal terms ahead of a shock move to Saudi Arabia, Liverpool may also need to bring in a new defensive midfielder ahead of next season.

They are known to be interested in Southampton star Romeo Lavia, 19. However, Jurgen Klopp may have just been given a fantastic opportunity to bring in a world-class star instead, in the form of Kimmich.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Liverpool are hoping to raid Bayern for Kimmich. But when their interest in him first surfaced in May, Fabrizio Romano stated that Bayern have no intention of selling the Germany international.

As per an update from German source Kicker (via Get German Football News), that stance has now changed. Bayern ‘no longer consider Kimmich to be unsellable’. If a club submits a reasonable bid for him then Thomas Tuchel’s side will consider it.

The report does not reveal how much Kimmich might cost Liverpool, although transfermarkt put his value at €75m (£64.3m). It is likely Liverpool would have to bid more than this to strike an agreement.

Fabinho, Henderson deals could fund Kimmich pursuit

Previously, Kimmich would have been way too expensive for Liverpool, given the fact the Merseyside club have already spent around £95m on two new midfielders. But if they receive good money for both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson from Saudi Pro League teams, then this may allow them to launch a major bid for Kimmich.

The former RB Leipzig man would quite simply be a brilliant signing for Liverpool. He is widely viewed as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, having helped Bayern to win one Champions League, eight Bundesliga titles and three DFB-Pokals. He also has plenty of international experience, with 79 Germany caps to his name.

Bayern’s U-turn on Kimmich comes as Tuchel looks to make big changes to his first team. Sky Germany state that Kimmich’s midfield partner Leon Goretzka could also leave the Allianz Arena, with West Ham battling Manchester United for him.

Bayern allowing Kimmich to go would definitely be a mistake. He would take Liverpool up a level and could help to make them serious challengers for Premier League and Champions League glory again, which is something Bayern don’t want to happen.
