Euro Paper Talk: Klopp in contact, agreement near as Liverpool hold talks with Wolves star

Adama Traore, Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool are close to a deal to sign Adama Traore from Wolves, while Leeds United are interested in a €5m-rated Senegal star – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.

LIVERPOOL CLOSE IN ON ADAMA TRAORE

Talks between Liverpool and Wolves about a move to bring Adama Traore to Anfield are “well advanced”, according to a report.

Traore, who moved to Wolves from Middlesbrough two summers ago, had a stop-start season last time round but has become one of the club’s best players this term.

Indeed, he has scored three goals against Manchester City in the Premier League this term to help Liverpool stride towards their first league title.

The Spaniard’s agent hinted recently that despite the financial impact of the global health crisis, there could still be a market for his client in the upcoming transfer window.

According to Todofichajes, Liverpool are exploiting that market and an agreement with Wolves to sign Traore will be signed “in the coming weeks”.

The source says that while there are several clubs across Europe interested in the 24-year-old, it is Liverpool who are ahead of the rest, with boss Jurgen Klopp speaking to Traore on the phone.

Traore and fellow Wolves attacker Raul Jimenez have scored 46 goals and assisted 31 others between them since the start of last term.
