Manchester United and two other Premier League sides contact Philippe Coutinho’s agent, while Roma reignite their interest in a Tottenham star – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
MAN UTD HOLD TALKS WITH COUTINHO AGENT
Manchester United, Leicester and Chelsea have all opened talks with the agent of Bayern Munich’s on-loan midfielder Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.
Coutinho moved to Bayern last summer from Barcelona having failed to settle at Camp Nou but his future in Spain remains unclear, with Barca said to be willing to offload the Brazil international again.
What’s more, a return to the Premier League has been mooted for the former Liverpool star and, according to Mundo Deportivo, the trio of top-flight English sides have all began talking to Kia Joorabchian.
Coutinho has reportedly informed his agent that he would prefer a move to Chelsea ahead of signing for United or Leicester and Barca have set a price tag of between €80million and €90million on the 27-year-old.
The midfielder is currently sidelined having undergone minor surgery on his ankle in April, but he is expected to be fully fit before the scheduled end of the Bundesliga season on June 27.
Mundo Deportivo adds that Bayern’s medical staff are confident he can return before then and want his future resolved before the end of next month.
Whoever gets closest to Barca’s valuation of Coutinho is likely to win the race to sign him, according to the Spanish newspaper.
