Euro Paper Talk: One thing stopping Man Utd signing Sancho

Manchester United believe only one thing is stopping them signing Jadon Sancho this summer, while an Arsenal and Tottenham target is available for €50m, according to Friday’s Euro Paper Talk.

MAN UTD GROWING CONFIDENT OF SEALING SANCHO DEAL

Manchester United are reportedly confident of beating their rivals to Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho, as long as they secure Champions League football.

The Red Devils are ready to splash the cash in the summer transfer window to cut the gap to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table.

United have been linked with numerous players, with the likes of Sancho, Harry Kane, Kalidou Koulibaly, Jack Grealish and James Maddison all on their shopping list.

But according to the Daily Mirror, United feel they will be able to bring England winger Sancho to Old Trafford if they secure Champions League football – when the season eventually gets back underway.

The report adds that PSG are the biggest rivals to United for the 19-year-old, although the Red Devils feel they have the financial mite to outmuscle their French rivals.

It is claimed that Dortmund are willing to let Sancho go if they receive a bumper offer, with the Bundesliga side looking for around £130m a -a figure that it is not expected to put United off.

Indeed, Dortmund’s Hans-Joachim Watzke has been vocal on Sancho’s future, insisting the winger can leave if he wishes to do so.

“Jadon is a great, great talent, maybe the greatest talent in Europe currently of players under the age of 21,” Watzke said.

“In my opinion, he has the potential to become one of the two or three best players in the world in the years to come.

“If one day he comes to us and says that he wants to leave the club, then we’ll discuss it.”

United are currently fifth in the Premier League, just three points behind Chelsea in fourth, but with the Premier League season not expected to get back underway until April 4 at the earliest everything is up in the air at the moment.
