Manchester United have joined the race for an Arsenal midfield target, while a relative of one Tottenham star has gone public with his future plans – all in Thursday’s European papers.
SOLSKJAER ASKS FOR SZOBOSZLAI
Manchester United have joined the race for Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai, according to reports.
Szoboszlai has emerged as a key player for RB Salzburg in recent seasons, but decided to stay with them this summer. He had been suggested as a possible target for Arsenal.
The Hungary international chose to continue his development in Austria in the short-term. However, reports have suggested Arsenal remain interested, with one eye on the January transfer window.
They are not the only ones, though. According to Todofichajes, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has requested that Man Utd make a move for him in January.
Solskjaer already has plenty of midfield options at his disposal, but has struggled to accommodate new signing Donny van de Beek so far this season.
The report claims he sees Szoboszlai as a better fit for United. Therefore, they will negotiate with Salzburg for his transfer in the winter.
The Austrian club want to keep their prize asset, but his contract only has two years left on it. Therefore, the could sell while they can still command a decent price – with their starting point set at €30m.
United are not the only new contender for Szoboszlai, either. According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico Madrid have also added their interest.
Szoboszlai scored against Atletico for Salzburg in the Champions League on Tuesday- and he was already on their agenda before that. PSG and Napoli are also mentioned as potential suitors.
