Manchester United line up a second alternative to Jadon Sancho, while Jose Mourinho wants a Real Madrid defender at Tottenham – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
MAN UTD PLAN SECOND SANCHO ALTERNATIVE
Manchester United have lined up Juventus winger Douglas Costa as their “first alternative” if they fail to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has earmarked a wide forward as one of his top priorities for the upcoming transfer window and the Red Devils have been linked with Sancho since last summer.
The speculation linking Sancho to Old Trafford has grown stronger this season but recent reports have indicated that the club are planning for alternative signings.
While United reportedly feel they can outbid other clubs for his signature, it was previously claimed that Schalke’s Rabbi Matondo would be targeted if a move for Sancho fails.
Now, Calciomercato claims that Costa, who has only made 18 appearances this season, is also being considered.
The Brazilian moved to the Serie A giants on loan from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2017 and made 31 outings in his first season with the club.
In the past two campaigns, however, he has been hampered by injury and suspension problems.
United are not the only club to be following Costa, the report claims, with Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain also keen.
