Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd to launch bids for TWO new strikers after Harry Kane decides on rival move; PSG set Mbappe deadline amid Arsenal, Real Madrid links

Manchester United have made a final decision on the two strikers they will pursue after Harry Kane began prioritising a Bayern Munich move, Paris Saint-Germain have set a deadline for Kylian Mbappe to pen a new contract amid interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims a senior West Ham ace could head to Turkey.

MAN UTD IN FOR TWO ATTACKERS

Man Utd will try to land centre-forwards starring in Portugal and Italy after failing to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham, according to a report.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag had decided on Kane as his ideal striker replacement for Wout Weghorst. As a result, Man Utd held initial discussions with Tottenham about a possible transfer to Old Trafford.

However, they were soon put off the move. Even though Kane’s contract will expire in June 2024, Spurs told them to pay £100million for the England captain. One of the main reasons for this is that Spurs do not want to strengthen a direct Premier League rival.

Kane has now decided that his priority is to join Bayern. And the Bundesliga giants should not have to pay as much as Man Utd were quoted for Kane. After having an opening £60m offer rejected, Bayern are expected to return with an improved bid worth £80m plus add-ons.

With Kane no longer an option, Man Utd have had to start looking at alternative strikers who will be able to bag at least 20 goals for them next term.

And CaughtOffside have provided a major update on which player may end up joining Ten Hag’s squad, with their shortlist now down to two names.

It is claimed that Man Utd will soon make new approaches to Benfica and Atalanta for Goncalo Ramos and Rasmus Hojlund. They also like Victor Osimhen of Napoli, but his £150m price tag is too high.

Ten Hag has decided on Ramos and Hojlund as his ‘priorities’ as he looks to finally get a striker through the door.

Red Devils prepare for new talks with Benfica, Atalanta

Man Utd originally held talks with Benfica about Ramos in May, and they will soon return for another round of discussions.

The Portugal international’s release clause with Benfica stands at a whopping €120m (£102.7m). But Man Utd will discuss this with Benfica to see if the Primeira Liga club will consider a lower proposal.

If they get the right response, then Man Utd will launch a bid for Ramos.

Man Utd are also preparing to enter a fresh round of talks with Atalanta over Hojlund. As per Corriere dello Sport, the Manchester club saw a €35m (£30.1m) bid for him rejected on Saturday.

Despite this, Man Utd believe there is the potential for them to strike an agreement with Atalanta, and Hojlund could prove to be far cheaper than Ramos. The Serie A club have set his price tag at around £50m.

Another reason why Hojlund may end up being the preferred target is his love for Man Utd. In June, he labelled them a ‘huge club’ and admitted he could achieve his goal of ‘reaching the top shelf’ by signing for them. Plus, his Denmark team-mate Christian Eriksen has already admitted he ‘can see’ the 20-year-old joining Man Utd.

Man Utd’s chase for a new striker finally looks like it is close to reaching a conclusion as they will soon send offers for both Ramos and Hojlund. At this point, Hojlund appears to be the most likely player to end up partnering the likes of Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes in attack.
