Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd to leave Tottenham stunned by hijacking £51m Serie A swoop amid Kim defeat; West Ham want Chelsea forward to replace Scamacca

Manchester United have set their sights on an alternative Serie A star after admitting defeat in the race for Kim Min-jae, and it could see them rival Tottenham, West Ham are hoping a Chelsea striker will be able to replace Gianluca Scamacca, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk includes Paris Saint-Germain hoping to land a big-name Tottenham ace.

MAN UTD, TOTTENHAM POISED FOR TRANSFER TUSSLE

Man Utd and Tottenham appear set to battle it out for the signing of a top-class Serie A defender after Erik ten Hag’s side missed out on Napoli’s Kim Min-jae.

Ten Hag recently decided on Kim as his ideal signing to improve Man Utd’s centre-back ranks. The South Korea international was expected to move to Old Trafford, where he would have rivalled Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane for a starting spot.

There were even claims that the move was a ‘done deal’ between Man Utd and Napoli. However, Bayern got involved in the chase for Kim last week and have snatched the player from Man Utd’s grasp.

According to the latest from transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, Kim will become a Bayern player in the near future unless any of his other potential suitors come in with a lucrative contract offer at the last minute.

But it does not look like Man Utd will do that as they have identified two French defenders as alternative signings. And now, Juventus’ Gleison Bremer can be added to that list.

Bremer was linked with Tottenham and Chelsea last summer, but he went on to join Juventus from Torino instead.

However, the Brazilian may finally end up in the Premier League this summer. On June 8, Italian outlet Calciomercato revealed how Spurs had been in contact with Bremer’s agent over a potential move.

And now, that same source have come back with a big update on Bremer’s future. They reveal how Man Utd could scupper Spurs’ plans as the Red Devils are ‘particularly interested’ in signing the player, while Chelsea are keeping tabs on him too.

Ten Hag keen on Brazil international

Man Utd have come to the realisation Kim will not be moving to Old Trafford and have instead decided that Bremer would be a great alternative.

As per WhoScored, Bremer registered the most interceptions and clearances per game of any Juventus player this term. He also managed the second-highest amount of blocks per match.

Not only are Bremer’s stats good, but he also has experience playing at a high level, having featured for Juve in the Champions League and won three caps for the Brazil national team. Plus, at 26 Bremer is heading into his peak years.

Juve do not want to lose Bremer, but if a major offer comes in this summer they will simply have to consider it. As such, they have set their asking price at €60m (£51m).

Should both English sides match Bremer’s price tag, then he will likely get to decide between them. This will likely leave Spurs disappointed as they cannot offer him any kind of European football, whereas Man Utd have qualified for next season’s Champions League.
