Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd record move for insanely talented star provokes Real Madrid decision; Man City transfer sets up huge winger move

Eder Militao, Eduardo Camavinga and Yannick Carrasco

Man Utd have been taking a look at a top Real Madrid talent and have now learned their chances of signing him, while an upcoming Manchester City transfer may have a huge consequence for one of their former players – all in Monday’s European transfer gossip.

REAL MADRID MAKE CAMAVINGA DECISION

Man Utd have been showing an interest in what could be a record-breaking move for Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga, it has been claimed.

Reports in Spain have indicated how Man Utd would be willing to spend big on the French midfielder, two years after he moved to Madrid from Rennes.

Camavinga is one of the most promising midfielders in La Liga at the age of 20. He is yet to become a regular starter for Real, but has earned a substantial amount of gametime. This season, he has started 14 times in La Liga and been subbed on a further 12 times.

Keen to continue their own midfield evolution – which included the signing of Casemiro from Real last summer – Man Utd have been considering Camavinga as a potential target.

Yet an update from AS and Marca journalist Mario Cortegana in The Athletic has revealed that Madrid are now ready to offer a contract extension to Camavinga. Indeed, preliminary talks have begun.

His current contract is due to expire in 2027, so there is no cause for alarm yet. However, Camavinga could soon be rewarded by Real with an improved salary, while the date of his contract expiry would move to 2029 or 2030.

Camavinga to cost a fortune

Furthermore, Los Blancos want to insert a €1billion release clause (around £875m) into his contract to ward off interest from other suitors like Man Utd.

That said, it has been claimed that Erik ten Hag’s team might be able to offer him a more prominent role more quickly.

Hence, Camavinga has a few things to consider before committing his long-term future to Real. Yet with 82 appearances for them already, he has been making decent enough progress at the Bernabeu to want to continue there.

Veterans like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos won’t be around by the time Camavinga’s contract ends. Therefore, he has every chance of stepping up in the years to come.

Man Utd may have to shift their attention elsewhere if Camavinga becomes out of reach, which it appears is going to be the case.
