Manchester United turn to a former Chelsea target in their hunt for a new defender, while a Barca midfielder puts Tottenham on alert – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
MAN UTD TURN TO FORMER CHELSEA TARGET
Manchester United are keen on signing Real Madrid full-back Sergio Reguilon, according to a report.
Reguilon had previously caught admiring glances from Chelsea in their hunt for a new left-back. However, the Blues recently confirmed the signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester.
According to Marca, though, Reguilon will not be short of suitors in the coming weeks. Indeed, the 23-year-old remains a target for several clubs following his impressive loan spell at Sevilla.
One of those clubs is United, who – like Chelsea – supposedly want to freshen up their left-back options. The Red Devils recently had a bid turned down for Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile.
Now, though, Marca claims United are watching Reguilon’s situation closely, with the probability of him playing at Madrid next season “very remote”.
Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane has Ferland Mendy and Marcelo to call on ahead of Reguilon.
Although, United are not the only side keen. Tottenham are also watching Reguilon, as are Juventus and Inter Milan.
Reguilon thrust himself into the limelight after helping Sevilla to a sixth Europa League triumph last season. He scored one goal and assisted another in five games in the competition.
Marca adds that Madrid value him at between €20million and €25million (£18million – £22million).
