Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd striker swap and midfield coup to deliver Ten Hag massive double upgrade; Newcastle to pay £35m exit clause for LaLiga sensation

Erik ten Hag celebrating for Man Utd

Manchester United are plotting a huge double deal that would see an explosive striker and new midfield partner for Casemiro arrive at Old Trafford, while Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Newcastle are looking to beat Arsenal to a Celta Vigo star by coughing up his release clause.

UNITED PUSHING FOR TWO HUGE UPGRADES

Manchester United are reportedly hoping to strike a swap deal with Inter Milan this summer that would see both clubs potentially start the new season with new No.9s.

Erik ten Hag has made it very clear that bringing in a central striker is his top priority this summer, with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen the leading candidates to fill that role.

However, the Red Devils also have a longstanding interest in Inter star Lautaro Martinez and CMW claims a swap proposal could be on the horizon.

The Argentine has scored 23 goals and added nine assists across all competitions this season and is being tipped to form a formidable partnership with Marcus Rashford up top for United.

And although Inter are keen on keeping the player, CMW adds that offering Anthony Martial in a swap proposal, as well as £44million, could tempt the cash-strapped San Siro outfit into a deal.

Martial remains a divisive figure among United fans, with many feeling he has not fulfilled his early potential. However, injuries have often stood in the way of the Frenchman being able to be a regular goalscorer for the club.

Martinez would also be considered a major upgrade over the 27-year-old, given his prolific form in Italy over the past few seasons.

However, the report does not indicate whether Inter are happy to take on Martial as part of the deal, although they have had interest in the forward in the past.

Ten Hag still fighting for incredible Brighton man

Meanwhile, Ten Hag is expected to bolster the whole spine of his side in the summer and has made Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister his main midfield target.

The Argentinian edition of AS states that United are ready to pull the trigger to bring the Seagulls star to Old Trafford.

Mac Allister will not come cheap, however, with Brighton wanting close to £70m for their star midfielder.

Ten Hag was said to have been hugely impressed with the World Cup winner during Brighton’s loss to United on penalties in the FA Cup semi-final and views him as the ideal midfield pivot alongside Casemiro.

The Red Devils will not have it all their own way in the chase for the player though, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that Liverpool has muscled their way ahead of the pack to land the Seagulls star.
