Manchester United are ready to make a surprise move for a former Tottenham star, while Leeds are ready to swoop for a veteran Spanish striker – all in Friday’s Euro Paper Talk.
MAN UTD IN SURPRISE PLAYMAKER MOVE
Manchester United are being tipped to make a shock €18million (£16.5m) move for former Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen before the transfer window closes.
The Dane has struggled since joining Inter Milan from Tottenham in a £17m January move, leading to talk that the Italian outfit are already looking to cut their losses.
The 28-year-old was linked with a return to north London before the new campaign got underway, but now United are keen.
That is according to TodoFichajes, who state that the Red Devils are preparing to make an offer for the attacking midfielder before the window closes on October 5.
The report adds that the Red Devils believe Eriksen can provide the assists for their impressive forward line, despite already having Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba on board and bringing in Donny van de Beek.
At this stage a new centre-back and a right-winger remain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top priorities.
Indeed, United are expected to make one final offer to try and bring in Jadon Sancho, while RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has opened the door to a potential move again.
However, a bargain move for another playmaker may be too good to turn down – especially with Eriksen being one of the Premier League’s top assists performers over the past seven years.
