Nicolo Barella during Inter v Juventus, October 2021

Manchester United have three new signings in mind amid the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, while Bayern Munich plot a marquee sale – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.

MAN UTD PLOT THREE SIGNINGS

Manchester United have three transfer targets in mind to bolster their ranks in central midfield, at right-back and up front, according to a report.

The Red Devils and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are under mounting pressure following the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. Reports have claimed that the Norwegian is fighting to save his job and that cracks are appearing in the dressing room.

On the pitch, meanwhile, Solskjaer has faced criticism for his tactics, specifically the lack of organisation in United’s pressing.

The lack of midfield balance was a by-product of that problem against Liverpool, who cut through them at will.

As reported by Caught Offside, citing a report from the Spanish press, Man Utd plan to sign Inter’s Nicolo Barella in midfield. The Italy international has played a vital role this season, playing all nine Serie A games.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to remain in charge of Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to remain in the dugout for Saturday's trip to Tottenham Hotspur, with more news on Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard.

Up front, United recently brought in Jadon Sancho, but the club, led in part by football director John Murtough, have eyes on Barella’s Italy team-mate Federico Chiesa.

The Juventus forward has scored two goals and assisted one other in 10 Serie A games this term.

Finally, at right-back, Atletico Madrid’s England international Kieran Trippier remains a long-term target for United.

The Red Devils’ mounting pressure comes after Sancho was joined by Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane as summer signings.
