Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd unlock massive attacking upgrade by ditching major flop; Chelsea ‘focused’ on stunning Neymar capture

Dusan Vlahovic and Rafael Leao

Manchester United have immediately revived their hopes of signing a talented Serie A striker in what now could be a part-exchange deal, while Chelsea have been named as likely bidders for Neymar – all in Friday’s European transfer gossip.

MAN UTD EXPLORE VLAHOVIC, MARTIAL SWAP

Intermediaries are trying to orchestrate a swap deal that would see Man Utd sign Dusan Vlahovic while selling Anthony Martial to Juventus.

That’s according to Calciomercato, in a report that insists a move to Man Utd is still on for Vlahovic despite recent claims that he was not for sale.

Vlahovic has endured an underwhelming season with Juventus, which has put his future in doubt. Previously, his potential became clear at Fiorentina.

Man Utd are in the market for a new centre-forward this summer, when they will say goodbye to Wout Weghorst after his loan spell from Burnley.

Their top target is Harry Kane, but it might be hard to do business with Tottenham. Therefore, they will have to keep their options open.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is the other name most frequently linked, but his transfer value is immense. Vlahovic could represent a more affordable option.

And his own value could be reduced if Man Utd can send Martial in the opposite direction within a part-exchange deal.

TEAMtalk understands that Man Utd have made Martial available for transfer this summer. Injuries have limited his impact this season and there is only one more year remaining on his contract.

Martial was recently linked with a move to Aston Villa, but he could leave the Premier League altogether. He has admirers in Serie A and could finally end up in Italian football with long-time suitors, Juventus.

Due to their points deduction, it will be almost impossible for Juventus to provide Martial with Champions League football next season. In contrast, Man Utd have confirmed their return to the top UEFA competition.

Due to Vlahovic being younger than Martial and under contract at his current club for longer, he would be the more expensive component of the supposed swap deal.
