Euro Paper Talk: French outlet makes massive Salah contract claim

Mo Salah TEAMtalk

Mo Salah’s contract talks with Liverpool are not going as planned as the Reds plot the perfect replacement, while Everton have missed out on an attacking target – both in Friday’s Euro Paper Talk.

SALAH CONCERN COUNTERED BY MBAPPE TALK

Liverpool are the firm frontrunners to sign Kylian Mbappe, as Mo Salah’s contract talks at Anfield are reportedly not going well.

Canal +, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, reports that the Reds have been working on a deal for Mbappe for some time and remain in ‘first place’ to land the player.

However, they would have to let one of their prolific front leave to land the attacker – and that man could be Salah.

The report states that the Egyptian, who has previously stated that he would be willing quit Merseyside, is ready to turn down a new contract offer.

The 28-year-old currently has a deal that runs until 2023, but renewal talks are ‘not going as planned’.

That has left the door open to a potential exit and boosted Liverpool’s hopes of signing Mbappe in the process.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has previously admitted his admiration for the France international, who would occupy one of the wide spots in the German’s favoured 4-3-3 formation.

Mbappe is currently in his own negotiations over a new contract in Paris, but may yet to decide to move on.

New PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino did admit recently that the player is “very happy” at the Parc des Princes.

But money talks, and if PSG do not offer Mbappe the lucractive deal he covets then Canal + claims that the Reds are ready to make their move. Although sacrificing Salah would arguably need to come first.
