Euro Paper Talk: Mbappe deal to force unhappy Liverpool star out
Real Madrid are circling for a Liverpool star as the Reds look to sign Kylian Mbappe, while a Serie A side reaches out to Mesut Ozil – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
SALAH TO MAKE WAY FOR MBAPPE
Mohamed Salah will be the Liverpool star to make way if the Reds reach a deal to sign Kylian Mbappe, according to a report.
Several reports in recent months have linked the Premier League champions with a move for Mbappe. The Paris Saint-Germain star continues to light up up European football, but his future remains the subject of debate.
Indeed, he has two years left on his contract and it is unclear whether he will renew terms in the French capital.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a firm admirer of the 21-year-old, and has held an interest for some time.
According to Don Balon, though, Liverpool have ‘broken into the auction’ for Mbappe ‘with force’. The Reds are using their sponsorship with Nike – who also represent Mbappe – as leverage in the deal.
As such, Madrid have begun to look elsewhere and could look to raid Liverpool for Salah. The Spanish giants are ‘cautious’ about a deal for Mbappe, given Liverpool’s advantage.
Salah recently scored his 100th goal for Liverpool and remains a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp‘s plans. However, Don Balon claim that the Egyptian has fallen out with his manager.
Indeed the situation reportedly deteriorated some time ago and the 28-year-old is keen to seek pastures new. As such, Madrid could look to bring him to LaLiga if they lose out on Mbappe.
In any case, the outlet adds that Mbappe’s arrival at Anfield would ‘jeopardise’ Salah’s ranking at Liverpool.
