Euro Paper Talk: Neymar to Man Utd truths emerge as talks over second deal worth just €25m begin; Villa linked with outrageous Lionel Messi signing

Neymar to Man Utd transfer rumours

Manchester United are not in the running to sign Neymar despite being presented with a deal, a Bayern Munich star has made clear his wish to sign for Liverpool, while Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk has news of astonishing Aston Villa links to Lionel Messi.

NEYMAR OFFERED TO MAN UTD BY INTERMEDIARIES

Manchester United have ‘no desire’ to sign Neymar and ‘have not instigated talks’ to bring the PSG superstar to Old Trafford.

Reports in France on Monday evening said the Brazilian superstar has been cleared to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer and was keen on a move to the Premier League.

Per L’Equipe, Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United were all in contention to sign the player on an initial one-year loan. Their suggestion was, that in lieu of a transfer fee, his suitors would simply cover his £606,000 a week salary instead.

And while Chelsea have emerged as early favourites – Todd Boehly that! – it was suggested that United, with Casemiro a key instigator, were looking to hijack the deal.

However, it seems United have no intention of trying to sign the superstar either on a permanent or temporary deal.

And according to Sky Sports, it is intermediaries of Neymar who have approached United, rather than the other way around.

Per Kaveh Solhekol, he says: “Manchester United have been approached by intermediaries about signing Neymar from PSG. They are one of a number of clubs who have been contacted about his potential availability.

“While a deal might make sense from a commercial point of view, he is not currently a United target.”

Indeed, the Daily Mail also backs up the claims, insisting United have no intentions of signing the 359-goal star.

United do want a new striker and begin talks for Sabitzer

United, though, are in the hunt for a new striker this summer with Harry Kane seemingly their No 1 target. They do have other irons in the fire though with the club considering a number of options.

United are also ready to hold talks with Bayern Munich over the permanent signing of Marcel Sabitzer.

The Austrian moved to Old Trafford in January, signing on loan until the end of the season. He has made a decent impression during his short time at the club; making clear his wish to stay on board permanently.

As a result, Bayern are open to his permanent departure and are reportedly demanding a fee of €25m (£22m).

That’s according to Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg, who confirms United’s interest.

However, United hope to reportedly talk Bayern into a lower fee, with Sabitzer, at this stage, still not a priority signing.

To that end, the club will prioritise a striker and a new defender before negotiating for Sabitzer.

Nonetheless, the deal remains possible and would certainly be welcomed by the 29-year-old. His deal at Bayern currently runs until 2025.
