Euro Paper Talk: Ten Hag holds talks to sign outstanding Man Utd upgrade as second deal for Milan star emerges; Emery desperate to bring Serie A forward to Aston Villa

Manchester United could have two new full-backs on board next season although there is a growing chance that one of them could arrive before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline after talks have taken place, while Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk claims that Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is desperate to get a move for a former Everton forward over the line.

TWO NEW FULL-BACKS ON UNITED RADAR

The agent of Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries is reportedly in England for talks with a trio of Premier League clubs over a potential January move.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport discussions have already been had with Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle, although a move to Old Trafford appears to be the most likely at this stage.

Dumfries’ agent Rafaela Pimenta is looking to secure a move for the Netherlands international, either this month or in the summer.

Inter need to balance the books, hence their decision to cash in on the highly-rated 26-year-old.

And while the Italian giants are yet to receive any official offers, the fact that talks are taking place shows there is a desire to get a deal done before Tuesday evening’s deadline.

The 26-year-old is under contract until June 2025 but is open to moving to the Premier League in the future. And, according to Gazzetta (via Football Italia), Inter won’t sell for less than €40-45m (£35-39.5m).

United’s desire to sign a new right-back has been well documented, despite Aaron Wan-Bissaka finally showing why the Red Devils splashed out £50m on him in recent weeks.

Chelsea’s need only stems from an injury to Reece James, while Newcastle already have Kieran Trippier excelling.

To that end, a switch to Old Trafford appears to make the most sense, especially with the Dutch link between the player and United boss.

United full-back search not done at Dumfries

Meanwhile, United could end up with two new full-backs when next season starts due to a separate report.

Italian reports also suggest that United are plotting a swoop for AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez, with two players offered in a swap deal.

Ten Hag is known to be a big fan of the France international and is keen on a move despite already having Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia already on his books.

The two players mooted in a potential swap are Anthony Martial and Diogo Dalot, both of whom are out of contract in 2024.

It’s also thought that Milan are open to the deal, especially given how highly they rate the latter after his successful loan spell at the San Siro back in the 2020-21 season.
