Tottenham have their eyes on three top-class signings in 2021 to the tune of €140m, while Liverpool’s interest in an Atletico Madrid midfielder has been revealed, according to Monday’s Euro Paper Talk.
MOURINHO HAS AMBITIOUS 2021 TRANSFER PLANS
Jose Mourinho has his eyes on three top class talents as he looks to steer Tottenham to a higher plane in 2021.
Tottenham have made a solid start to the new season. However, they blew a chance to go second as West Ham pegged them back to draw 3-3 on Sunday.
All the same, the club will hope their form can secure a return to the Champions League for next season.
As such, reports claim Mourinho is drawing up ambitious plans to bring three top quality stars to the club during 2021.
According to AS, top of their list of targets is teenage midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
The Rennes teenager is also wanted by Real Madrid and Manchester United. However, Mourinho is also keen and is reportedly weighing up a big-money swoop for the €60m-rated youngster.
The 17-year-old already has three senior caps for France and is expected to be a major star in the game.
However, with just a year left on his deal come June, he is expected to be the subject of a huge transfer scramble.
Mourinho does seem determined to bolster his midfield and reports in Italy claim he’s also looking at Marcelo Brozovic.
The Croatian has fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte and Calciomercato claim he has been put up for sale.
A fee of around €40m could convince Inter to part ways with the midfielder.
WEGHORST INTEREST ALIVE
The third player on Mourinho’s wish-list is a familar name in the form of Wout Weghorst.
Spurs did hold talks with the player over a prospective move this summer.
However, they could not agree a deal with Wolfsburg and instead signed Carlos Vinicius.
Spurs do hold an option to sign the Brazilian for €25m, but should he fail to impress, Spurs could yet return for Weghorst.
And he has also hinted a future move to the Premier League too, saying: “If, one day, I have the feeling that I cannot achieve my goals at VfL, then I will say so.
“That is currently not the case. The Premier League is still a dream of mine.”
Weghorst scored 24 times last season and could cost around €40m.
