Europa League trophy

Manchester United will face AC Milan in the last 16 of the Europa League after beating Real Sociedad, while Tottenham and Arsenal have also learned their fates.

United did the leg work in the first leg, meaning a 0-0 draw on Thursday proved more than enough to progress.

But after beating Spanish opponents in the last 32, they will meet Italian side Milan, who are flying high in Serie A, four points off leaders Inter.

Spurs’ reward for thrashing Wolfsberger is a meeting with Dinamo Zagreb.

The Gunners, meanwhile, will play Olympiacos after edging past Benfica in a thrilling second leg contest.

Mikel Arteta’s side will have the chance to get revenge on their Greek counterparts, who knocked them out of the competition at the last 32 stage last season.

Indeed, Arteta will hope that his side will be better prepared this time round, having lost only a few months into the Spaniard’s reign last term.

Rangers make up the British representation in the competition, with Steven Gerrard’s men drawn against Slavia Prague in the next round of the competition.

The first leg of the ties will take place on Thursday March 11, with the return meetings taking place a week later.

United have home advantage in the first leg against Milan, while Tottenham, Arsenal and Rangers are all away for their first legs.

Granada, who are competing in the last 16 for the first time in their history, will face Norwegian side Molde.

In the other ties, Dutch giants Ajax play Young Boys, while Roma face Shakhtar Donetsk.

In the final clash, Dynamo Kiev go up against LaLiga opponents in Villarreal.
