Europa League draw: Man Utd handed stern LaLiga test, as Arsenal square off against Tottenham old boy

Europa League trophy

The Europa League draw saw Man Utd handed another Spanish test, while Arsenal will square off against Sporting Lisbon and their ex-Tottenham talisman, Marcus Edwards.

Man Utd progressed to the Round of 16 stage following a pulsating 4-3 aggregate victory over Barcelona in the play-off round. United came from behind in both legs, with Brazilian pair Fred and Antony doing the business in the return leg at Old Trafford.

Arsenal, meanwhile, topped Group A and as such, secured safe passage straight into the Last 16.

The Europa League draw was split into two categories, with the eight group winners all seeded and the eight teams advancing from the play-off round all unseeded.

Teams from the same federation could not draw each other at this stage of the competition, meaning a juicy Man Utd v Arsenal tie was not possible.
