Everton anxious as key man soars to top of Turkish club’s wishlist

Yerry Mina has emerged as a top target for Fenerbahce as his Everton future remains shrouded in mystery, a report claims.

Mina joined Everton from Barcelona in 2018. Appearances in his first season were limited but he has found more continuity over the past couple of years. Even so, his long-term future may lie away from Goodison Park.

Reports earlier this month suggested that Everton were already preparing for Mina’s exit. It was claimed that they would ask for £21.4m to sell him.

In turn, that would allow Carlo Ancelotti to pursue other targets to strengthen their defence. A reunion with Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly is one option, even if the coach has played it down.

Either way, Mina’s future is very much in doubt. And according to Turkiye Gazetesi, one of his potential suitors has now become clear.

The Turkish source claims that Fenerbahce are very keen on Mina. In fact, they have installed him as their preferred target as they look to reinforce their defence.

Fenerbahce are prioritising the addition of a goalkeeper and defender this summer and want Mina for the latter. However, they may struggle to afford him.

Carlo Ancelotti: European places will go down to wire

Carlo Ancelotti: European places will go down to wire

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti believes the battle for European places in the Premier League will go to the last game of the season.

Mina remains under contract at Goodison until 2023. Hence, there is enough time for Everton to loan him out for a season, which may be the best formula for Fenerbahce.

Whether Everton would actually be open to such terms remains to be seen. Mina has started 21 Premier League games this season, still proving his importance.

But if the Toffees get the chance to sign an upgrade, it could be time for the Colombian to make way.

Defender open to Everton move

It is not just at centre-back where Everton could make changes to their squad. They have also been linked with new full-backs.

One such name is Norwich right-back Max Aarons. There are a number of competitors for the English youngster, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

But according to The Telegraph, Everton may have the edge. It is suggested that he favours a move to Merseyside.

However, it will still cost Everton around £30m to get their man.
