Everton are plotting an ambitious move to sign Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck, according to reports.
The Sun claim Ronald Koeman is examining the possibility of luring the former Manchester United man to Goodison Park after Olivier Giroud made it clear he will stay at the club and fight for a starting spot.
Sandro and Wayne Rooney have already arrived at Everton this summer, however Koeman is still eyeing a centre-forward after losing Romelu Lukaku.
Welbeck scored Arsenal’s second goal as they beat Leicester City 4-3 in a thrilling Premier League opener on Friday night.
However, he has seen his place come under threat after the signing of striker Alexander Lacazette from Lyon.
Reports earlier in the week suggested that Everton would make a £30m move for Welbeck should they fail in their attempts to land Giroud.
According to the report, Welbeck “could be tempted to join the Goodison Park outfit if he feels his playing time will be restricted”.
