Everton launch cheeky €40m bid to hijack La Liga star’s move
Everton want to bring in four more players after Moise Kean this summer – and could be trying to hijack a bid for unsettled Barcelona forward Malcom.
Juventus and Italy starlet Kean is expected to complete his move to Goodison Park this week, in a deal that could rise to £36m. And according to The Daily Mail, the Everton won’t be stopping there in their spending spree, as they want to bring in another quartet.
Diario Sport claim that the Toffees have launched a late bid for Malcom, who had been expected to fly out to Russia to join Zenit St Petersburg, having reportedly agreed a six-year contract with them.
Everton’s offer is worth €40m, whereas Zenit’s was comprised of €35m up front and €5m in bonuses.
Barcelona have a good relationship with Everton, having sold Andre Gomes to them already this summer, and it is suggested that they would rather send Malcom there than Russia because of their better offer.
This would be a familiar turn of events for Malcom, who last summer saw a move to Roma announced before his flight was cancelled after Barcelona made a late offer to Bordeaux, worth €1m more than what the Italian side had put on the table.
