Everton trying to pinch Man Utd defender for just £10m

Everton are trying to sign Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot for just £10m, according to a report.

The Blues have been linked with the defender previously, but the Daily Mirror reports now that Carlo Ancelotti is preparing a bid for the 21-year-old.

Last month ESPN reported that Barcelona had showed an interest in Dalot, who is also an Everton target. With the Catalan giants on the lookout for reinforcements as they plan a squad rebuild.

Dalot has struggled for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, featuring just 11 times in all competitions this season.

In fact he has started just once in the Premier League this season and Ancelotti thinks he can tempt him away from Old Trafford.

Whether they can get Dalot for just £10m remains highly unlikely though. United paid £19m for the defender in June 2018 when he arrived from Porto on a five-year deal.

And even though his game time has been minimal under Solskjaer, United are very unlikely to sanction his sale for half of the price that Jose Mourinho paid for him two years ago.

The player, who predominantly plays at right-back was not involved against LASK this week.

The Manchester Evening News claim the defender has suffered another setback and has not been involved in training sessions over the last week.

Lingard up for sale

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jesse Lingard

Dalot apparently reported at United’s Carrington training complex on Wednesday morning for treatment, along with Luke Shaw.

It meant Solskjaer started youngster Brandon Williams against LASK.

Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will listen to offers for Jesse Lingard this summer, according to a report.

The Guardian claim that Solskjaer, although an admirer of Lingard, has decided that the 27-year-old “is deemed surplus to requirements”.

The emergence of 18-year-old Mason Greenwood has pushed Lingard down the pecking order. While United are also desperate to add England attacker Jadon Sancho to their ranks also.
